As the second half of the year unfolds, the cotton slipper industrial cluster in Cixi, Zhejiang province, is entering its export peak season. According to a recent survey by the local industry association, Cixi cotton slippers manufacturers have seen overseas inquiries rise by around 20% month-on-month over the past two months, with particularly strong demand from Europe, the US, Japan and South Korea.
Cixi, a major production base for cotton slippers in China, has built a complete supply chain from raw materials and mold development to finished products. In recent years, overseas buyers have placed cotton slipper export orders in smaller batches with more frequent deliveries, prompting local factories to accelerate flexible manufacturing upgrades. Many companies have introduced digital cutting and smart warehousing systems, shortening sample lead times to 3-5 days.
Several Cixi cotton slippers manufacturers reported that autumn winter cotton slippers wholesale demand started earlier than usual, with concentrated orders arriving in early September. Buyers are paying more attention to warmth and sustainability, making recycled cotton, antibacterial fabrics and biodegradable soles popular choices. Some factories have launched machine-washable, anti-slip and wear-resistant designs to increase added value.
Industry analysts note that although Southeast Asian countries pose some competition in low-end capacity, the Cixi cotton slipper cluster maintains its export edge through rapid response and design innovation. Cotton slipper export orders are expected to grow steadily in the fourth quarter. To meet peak demand, some Cixi cotton slippers manufacturers have added production lines and increased stock for autumn winter cotton slippers wholesale. The industry expects double-digit export growth for the full year.
From a market perspective, European customers show growing demand for sustainable products, and some Cixi cotton slippers manufacturers have obtained GRS certification. Meanwhile, emerging markets in the Middle East and South America are becoming new growth drivers. At the 134th Canton Fair, local enterprises showcased hundreds of new designs, with intended transaction value up 15% year-on-year.
